BOJ Teams Up With Fireboy DML In A New Tune, ‘Owo Ni Koko‘ – LISTEN
Singer, BOJ has released another amazing groove, ‘Owo Ni Koko‘ featuring YBNL protege, Fireboy DML. The pop sensation is the first single off BOJ’s third solo album, ‘Gbagada Express’ which houses 16 songs. The project was written and recorded amid the most limited phases of 2020’s lockdown, finding the alté pioneer and DRB Lasgidi alum at his most collaborative yet contemplative. According to BOJ, this song, Owo Ni Koko was inspired when he relocated back to Lagos, because he understood that you need money for everything. “When I moved back to Lagos, one of the first things that I learned is that you need money to make anything happen here. And if you don’t have it, you just need to shut up and keep grinding ’til you get it. So, ‘Owo Ni Koko’ means ‘money is the koko’—money’s the real deal. “I talk about how I’ve been grinding for a minute, how we need to put our moms in a drop-top. We need to make it. And if, if for any reason, I don’t make it, God forbid, then it would be my fault because the world is my oyster,” he revealed. Both artistes simultaneously switched verses. The popular music streaming site, Spotify has released a list of their most-streamed afrobeats artists after the just concluded 64th Grammy Award. The list is specifically for their Top 10 most streamed artist and also for artists who have surpassed a billion streams on Spotify. Wizkid topped the chart and knocked off other artists with a total of 4.4 billion streams. Burna Boy followed next with 2.7 billion streams. Mr. Eazi found himself in the third spot with 1.3 billion streams and the Love Nwanatiti crooner, Ckay has 1 billion streams. Davido found him on the 5th spot with 909 million streams, Maleek Berry is chilling with his 516 million streams. Essence co-star, Tems is number 7 with 412 million streams. Rema overtakes Fireboy with his 356 million streams while Fireboy DML occupies number 9th position with 300 million streams. African bad gal, Tiwa Savage rounded up the Top10 list with 270 million streams.
